Why rush? Why Delta Tau Delta?

Delta Tau Delta was founded on the principles of brotherhood, trust, integrity, and lifelong learning, among other important beliefs. It is in the heart and spirit of every Delt to pursue a life full of brotherhood and life-long learning.

What is Rush?

A vital part of any organization's foundation is its ability to proliferate and expand upon individual membership, to solidify the longevity of its own existence. Delta Tau Delta believes in recruiting and retaining the brightest and most talented leaders of the community, both in the classroom and in the real world. To fully entertain this idea, “Rush functions” were created to recruit interested members

Fraternity rush is held bi-annually at Purdue, once in the spring semester and again in the fall. Any student in good academic standing is welcome and encouraged to “rush” out amongst his peers and see if the Greek lifestyle is for him. The Interfraternity Council (IFC) at Purdue is the student-run governing and program body for fraternities, helping to coordinate such vital functions as rush and social events.

Purdue Rush: Getting Involved

Delt rush functions are nothing short of first class, and the Purdue Greek Community is renowned as one of the largest and most influential in the country. Interested members are offered transportation to and from the chapter house, a personal chapter house tour, brief history, core beliefs, and principles of Delta Tau Delta, complimentary food and refreshments, and invited to mingle among the active brothers.

What's in it for me?

Fun and engaging activities are usually planned as “ice breakers” to welcome the interested members, and usually turn into largely attended events, many times exceeding hundreds of people. The Gamma Lambda Purdue Delts are confident their recruiting efforts are among the best men at Purdue, attracting the widest, most diversely skilled future leaders of the community.

The “Delt” difference

Our belief is that by committing to a life long journey of learning and brotherhood, we will continue to be successful throughout all areas of our life. We challenge our fledgling members to get involved, remain active, and lead a life full of integrity.

The men of Delta Tau Delta shape and help mold one of the finest models of fraternal brotherhood, actively visible on the Purdue campus and throughout the community.
